Litcher Moments

Thursday, October 30, 2014

I made it my goal this month to start taking more pictures. I have been really horrible at taking pictures lately. Unless it was something special, I was not taking out my camera. This month, I got some pictures of the small moments and here they are!
A little snuggle time with my favorite boy!
A rare moment when the kids were getting along!
Cool kid waiting for his ride to swim!
Olivia was teaching Owen how to propose to someone. Cutest. Thing. Ever.
Baby snuggling!
College Roomies!
Date weekend with my hubby!
Making his own lunch!
Owen walking hand in hand with his favorite friend and the little lady he was practicing proposing to!
We were waiting in the car and decided to take a "selfie"
Halloween costume shopping with Cleopatra!
Making a cotton ball ghost! He did a great job!
Last soccer game!

Lots more baby snuggles!!
When Owen is tired and as he falls asleep he places his hands on his cheeks. It is the sweetest thing. I decided I needed a picture. You get the idea with this picture, but I am determined to get a better one!
Pretty lady!
Being silly!
Love to shop with my favorite girl!
This guy came from time out dressed like this. So, so hard to stay serious when he looks like this!
Mother/Daughter manicure night! Halloween nails!
Girl time!
Owen finally dared to swim on his own at lessons! The coach had to have his hands on him and then the last lesson he decided he was ready! So proud of him and look at his face...he is so proud of himself!
Litcher moments until next time! Have a great day!

WIAW - Monthly Recap and Recipe Edition

Wednesday, October 29, 2014

What a month it has been! This is the last WIAW for October and I am just going to highlight some of the stuff that I ate often throughout this month!

At the beginning of the month, I ate a bunch of these Pumpkin O's and I loved them. Sadly, Trader Joe's has not had them since the first time I bought them, so I haven't been able to have them again.
So I moved on to....

Pumpkin Bagels and I am still eating those every morning! Love them, but it is time to find a new breakfast!

For lunch I ate a lot of Tomato and Roasted Red Pepper soup. Yum! Then a reader told me about Pumpkin croutons and I made that addition. Delicious!
As much as I love the soup, I couldn't eat it every day so some days I would eat my old trusty lunch.
Turkey on Oatmeal bread with spinach and Dijon mustard! I really love this sandwich!

We have been eating a whole bunch of our freezer meals...
You can check them out here and here.
A few other meals we have eaten this month...
Breakfast for dinner, Pumpkin pancakes, scrambled eggs and fruit.
Apple chicken sausage, brown rice and broccoli/cauliflower mix.

I indulged in my first and only pumpkin muffin this season! I loved it!
I love these Pumpkin Cranberry crisps from Trader Joe's with Laughing Cow Swiss cheese on them. I am really hoping they are still in stock when I get there this week, I need a refill!
In the evening I am loving these...
They are really delicious and only 80 calories!
The final snack that I have loved and the kids have loved this month is of course pumpkin flavored, but is it a muffin or is a cupcake??
I don't know the answer to that question!
Every where I looked, I was seeing the recipe for spice cake mix and a can of pumpkin. I made them last year and they were not a hit with the kids. This year I decided to make them with a yellow cake mix and try to redeem myself! They were awesome! The whole family loved them. I made them mini muffins so that the kids could have two of them with some whipped cream for dessert. They are the perfect little dessert!  You aren't using oil or eggs in the recipe, they are super, super easy and delicious, you can't go wrong!
Yellow cake mix
Can of pumpkin
Mini Chocolate chips
Mix all ingredients together and bake! It doesn't get easier than that! You should definitely try them!

Favorites Under $10

Sunday, October 26, 2014

I just love linking up with Andrea and Erika for the favorites post! Today is Favorites under $10...

#1 Tootsie Pops

While looking for a picture of Tootsie pops I found that you can buy different flavors of Tootsie Pops on Amazon!
The above Wild Berry Flavors will be my next purchase!
Tootsie pops are not necessarily a new favorite of mine, but they are something that I haven't had in a long time. I am bringing them back now because I am getting serious about my weight loss. Why would I be bringing out candy when I am getting serious about weight loss?? Well for me, the tootsie pops really work when I am craving something sweet. It is sweet enough to curb my craving, takes me a long time to eat it so I am not turning to something else quickly after and at just 60 calories, I don't have to feel bad about the splurge! I have been keeping these in the cupboard and they have hit the spot for me on a few occasions lately! Including right before I started writing this post, which is probably why it made it to #1 :)

#2 Yankee Swap Gifts

I was doing some online shopping yesterday and found this awesome Yankee swap gift...
I just think this is a riot and paired with a bottle of wine would be the perfect swap gift for a fun crowd! And you can't beat the price of $9.95, making it my favorite Yankee Swap gift under $10! You can check it out at the Lakeside Collection by clicking here.

#3 Christmas Chair Covers

While shopping for the above Yankee swap gift, I found these adorable chair covers...
I could not resist these things! They will be the perfect touch to the chairs at our raised bar in the kitchen/living room! And at $5.95 for all four covers, I could not pass on them! The kids will love them...and so will I, if I am being totally honest! Check them out here.
Now some of you are reading this and thinking I am totally crazy, because I am talking about Christmas shopping and decorating and it is still only October, but I call myself prepared :)
I will be done Christmas shopping by Black Friday which gives me all of December to do the fun stuff, wrap, bake, socialize and just enjoy! I have done this the last few years and it makes December so much more relaxing and I don't have to shop when the stores are crazy mobbed! Except for Black Friday, but this has become such a fun tradition every year with my sister in law that I wouldn't miss it! After the initial rush of people, the stores empty out and we just do our thing, chat, have a coffee and shop till we drop...literally! But when I get home I have everything I need for the holiday season. I have my gift wrap, I stock up on tape, I have the last few gifts on my list and usually a few things for the house! You can't beat some of the deals!
So that's it for Favorites Under $10 for October! Next Month I will highlight some of my favorite Easter things...kidding, I am not that prepared!! Come back tomorrow for my meal plan, Wednesday is What I Ate Wednesday and Friday is How the Jeans Fit Friday - scale edition! You don't want to miss it!
Happy Monday!

Friday Favorites - American Girl Doll House Edition

Thursday, October 23, 2014

Anyone else have an American Girl lover in their house? To say that Olivia loves American Girl is an understatement! They are definitely her favorite thing! She loves the dolls, the stuff, to play with them, to look through the catalogues, read the books...everything! She was trying to make a Christmas list the other night and Mike said she really just ought to tell Santa what she does NOT want out of the catalogue because that list would be much shorter!

Due to the size of our house and the fact that the kids share, space of course is an issue, so we came up with the perfect solution to all the stuff, and I have to tell you, it is amazing. Check it out....

Olivia's American Girl Dollhouse!

The house is made from individual boxes/rooms. Mike built the boxes for Olivia last Christmas and the next step is why it rates as one of my favorites as well, because then Olivia and I have painted and decorated the house. It has been such a fun activity for us to do together. I loved taking her to pick out paint colors and listen to her trying to decide on which colors would work for which rooms. She is getting so grown up!
Right now Olivia has 5 American Girl dolls and she loves and plays with every single one of them!
They all have a bedroom space in the house...
Kit's Bedroom
Isabelle's Bedroom

Rebecca's Bedroom

McKenna and Caroline share a bedroom

The house also has a living room. This room gets rearranged regularly depending on what the dolls are doing. This is the set up Olivia uses when she does a party!

The Kitchen. The table gets pulled out when she uses it.

On the very top floor which really Olivia can't get to is the bathroom, but that has to be pulled down if she wants to use it. Then she has a laundry room and dressing room on the floor.

This house looks great and is so useful. It brings all the stuff up off the floor vertically to conserve space. It allows Olivia and I a project to work on. And because it is all individual boxes it can be moved around and rearranged whenever you need to very easily. This way when she moves to her new upstairs bigger bedroom, the house doesn't have to be so high and she can add more boxes.

We are still working on decorating the boxes and have to finish a few things in the house. We pick things up here and there to use as decorations. Right now she has done a little Halloween decorating and we are both looking forward to decorating it for Christmas. She is asking for another doll for Christmas, I told her that there was no more room at the inn right now! We can't fit another bedroom anywhere! But, Samantha ranks #1 on her Christmas list, so Santa may decide that she can have it?? I am sure we can find a place for her to sleep!
I figured I would post this way before Christmas, because I have a few friends that are using this idea for Christmas presents and I thought I would give all my new reader friends a look at it too! I hope if you do make something like this, it becomes one of your favorite activities as well!
If there are a lot of people interested in exactly how Mike designed the boxes, let me know in the comments and I will do a more detailed post!
Have a Great Weekend!!
