Menu Plan Monday 12/8/2014

After a horrible week and an even horribler (is that a word??) weekend in the eating department. I have finished reading this book...

This book made so much sense to me. After reading it, I really feel like I have a better understanding of how to use food to help with weight loss and not just by limiting or counting calories. On Friday I said I was going to start this program today, but after reading it, I realized that I need more time to prepare. And Mike said he was going to be "all in" with me, so we need to wait until we can be on it 100% and this is a tough time for that with all of our holiday socializing.

I am going to look at the calendar and find our start date. I don't want to go crazy and gain 10 more pounds before I start, I am still going to watch what I eat, but I also don't want to start a new plan and be discouraged or disappointed in the results because I can't follow it the way I should. One thing I love about this plan is it does include a cheat day or meals each week, but it has to be on the same day each week, preferably Sundays.

As soon as I pick a date, you will all know about it and I hope some of you will follow along with me! I am going to be documenting exactly how this works for me and I am so excited to start! Now, I have to eat the stuff around the house that won't be on the diet, because he recommends getting rid of everything you can't eat! No temptations! So without any more talk, here is the plan for the week!

Have you ever done carb cycling and how did it work for you??

Do you have a whey protein powder that you recommend??

  1. It is funny once you start learning about food that it isn't necessarily the low cal options that are always best for you. Things we always think when "dieting" don't hold true for maintaning a healthy lifestyle for life. Meal plan look great, enjoy your week!

  2. I highly recommend Skoop B-Strong protein powder! I've never heard of carb cycling. What is the concept behind the diet? Interesting.

    1. Thanks for the recommendation! I am going to explain the diet in detail as I prepare to start, but basically it is alternating high carb and low carb days to maximize fat loss.

  3. That's great that Mike is all in with you as well. It's a great way to keep you both on track. I'm thinking you should go with pancakes on Wednesday for your brinner meal.. or even waffles :)

  4. Carb cycling often works really well- good luck with it! I haven't tried it only because I try not to count anything with food (calories, grams, etc) and focus on clean, whole foods. But everyone is different and you obviously need to find what works for you!

    1. I would like to move towards clean eating, but for now I feel like I need direction and structure, because just trying to eat clean hasn't worked for me, it hasn't been enough of a "plan" to stay on track. I am looking forward to using this for the weight loss and clean eating for maintenance! Have a great day!
