Do you have 7 minutes??

Seriously, just 7 minutes of time? I know I waste plenty of 7 minutes each day and I can't be the only one! People have asked what I am planning to do for a workout in my new journey to weight loss, so I figured I would fill you in today on what I have started.

Have you heard of the 7 Minute Workout? I don't remember where I heard about it, but I downloaded the app on my phone a long time ago and did the workout maybe twice because that's pretty much how things went in this house.

This is the one that I chose, but there are a bunch of them when you search for 7 minute workout.

Last week I decided to try the app again and realized that it is perfect. Perfect for so many reasons...

1. 7 minutes. Enough said.
2. Requires no equipment.
3. Can do the workout anywhere.
4. Does not require you to be in workout clothes or shoes.
5. Inexpensive.
6. There are achievements you can earn including free upgrades just by doing the workout.

Am I going to get in the best shape of my life working out for 7 minutes a day? No. But for me it is a perfect jumping off point. You are not limited to only doing one circuit either. You can do as many circuits as you want to increase the time. You can add bonus workouts and much more.

As of right now I have only worked out one 7 minute session a day. I am incredibly out of shape so I feel like I worked out and I have sore muscles the next day so I feel good about it. Already I was feeling that I was doing my jumping jacks with more energy than I had last week and that always feels good.

Because it is only 7 minutes I have done the workout in the morning, in the middle of the afternoon or even at 10:45 in the evening before bed. If you asked me to do a 30 minute workout at 10:45 at night I would have told you that you were crazy! But 7 minutes? There I was in my bedroom a few nights ago doing push ups!!

I have worked out in yoga pants, which I am regularly wearing, my pajamas and even in jeans one day! I don't necessarily think jeans are the best thing to workout in, especially not a skinny jean, but since I am far from able to pull off a skinny right now, mine were roomy enough to fit a quick workout in before a friend came by! I sent this picture to a friend one morning because I was getting ready to do the workout in my pajamas and needed a little "support" for those jumping jacks....#keepingitreal

The app keeps track of when you do the workout and rewards you with achievements when you continue to workout and I like that motivation. One day when I had time I also did a 12 minute pilates -ish workout that I found on YouTube and I plan to try some more out as well when I have more time on my hands.

 This is my plan for now and continuing to eat low carb. I posted my #transformationtuesday pic on Instagram yesterday and I am down 2 pounds in 2 weeks and I call that success!

  1. Good job! My "workout" of choice is walking. It does take a lot of time ~ luckily I have plenty of that! I think I'll check this app out for some extra though. I'm somewhat stalled in my weight loss and need to get it going again! I still have 27 pounds to go and I'm determined!
