About Me

Welcome to my journey blog! I am calling it that because that is what I am on, now more than ever before. My journey is to find out who I really am, to be happy with who I am, and to find my path.
From the outside I am a mama to two beautiful, fun, yet sometimes exasperating children. Olivia (11) and Owen (7). I am a wife to a hardworking man, Mike, who I love and have loved for more than half my life! I am a stay at home mom, but worked on the clerical side of healthcare before having children. I love to read, scrapbook, decorate, DIY projects (I get all my inspiration from Pinterest), anything crafty, organize (but I have a hard time staying that way), I am a planner (nothing makes me happier than planning a party) and spending time with family and friends. I am happy, love to have fun and am truly blessed in so many ways.
On the inside, I struggle. I struggle with body image, my faith and where it belongs, being a good mom and wife. I have been told quite often how people like that I am REAL, and one of my biggest pet peeves is people that are not. Life is not always peaches n' cream and I won't try to convince you that it is.
My hope for this blog is that I can journal my journey for myself and also for anyone else who can relate to all the normal things I go through. I will blog about health and fitness as I take my journey to get to a healthy weight for myself as well as to set a good example for my children. I will blog about the steps I am going take to find a religious community that works for me. I will blog about my parenting struggles and things that are working or not. I will blog about budgeting as I try to create a budget that works for our family to reach our goals.
I am looking forward to taking this journey with some new friends. Keep me accountable and I will KEEP IT REAL!!

  1. Hi Sandy,

My husband and I have read the choose 2 lose book and had begun the program before Christmas. After a short hiatus we decided it was time to jump back in and I was searching for more resources to keep us motivated. I stumbled on your site and the similarities are just eerie... My husband and I have been married 10 years, together 18. I'll be turning 35 in March wanting to shed the same amount of weight... We have a 7 year old girl and a 4 year old boy... It was like reading our story. :) Thanks for sharing your story, the struggles, the goals and for motivating us to do the same!

    1. Hi Kim!!

Wow! Our stories are crazy similiar, that is wild! I am so glad you found me! I am planning 1-2 more weeks of calorie counting and then will be doing another cycle of carb cycling. Good luck with your journey! I would love to hear how it is going for you! You can email me too, slitcher@gmail.com

      Take Care and Good luck!

  2. I've been following along... It's really helpful to read the trials and tribulations of other families. Makes you realize that you aren't alone. :) I had started a blog years ago, so I decided to revive it, to stay accountable. Come visit if you'd like: chasingmunchkins.blogspot.ca Tomorrow is weigh in for me. After the effort in meal prep and commitment to the program I really hope I see results. :) Have a great Wednesday!

  3. I think someone is using Mike's pict in twitter? https://twitter.com/CSpringer271
